5 Mar 2008Hello All
I am in the process of creating an Industry Advisory Panel for Alabot.
It will have senior people across various verticals who will advise and guide Team Ala. They will be experts in the mobile, enterprise and financial space in this panel.
I am very pleased to welcome Mr. Sanjoy Bose on Board. He is the CEO of Buzznet (http://buzznetlabs.com) and has been kind enough to come on board as an advisory member.

Industry Advisory PanelRest API Released
We have released a REST API, now anybody using any language / platform can integrate with Alabot
You can now use the API for two purposes:-
Using a service already provided by Alabot , you can forward an user message to Alabot and he would process the message , map it to the appropriate service and respond.
In another case you might just want Alabot to do an NLP analysis , for example, you might have business API hosted at your end and want to use Alabot process user messages and get all the parameters required for an API call, for example lets consider a travel domain example , where user requests for a ticket …
user : I wnt 1 tickt from new york to lndn on 26 mrch - alabot can do an NLP analysis and return the output that you can call your backend or GDS
Alabot response after NLP analysis : RestApiCall:{montht=march, sourceCity=new york, dayt=26, adultst=1, destCity=london}
Example :
http://alabot-api-srver-here/api/msg=userMsgHere
&key=PutYourApiACcessKeyHere&clientid=PutYourClientIDHere
Pl refer to REST API documentation for details: Rest API Documentation
You will need an API access key for making REST calls also an server side configuration if service requested is new or unique to your company
Who is this service for?
Some suggestions from our side based on customer feedback:-
Mobile VAS Providers/Telecom /SMS aggregators , : They want to use Alabot or AI / NLP module for service discovery and NLP analysis . User SMS or WAP messages are forwarded to alabot where he analyzes text, maps it to the service and then does NLP analysis OR opens an interactive session with user if more information is required. 18 Feb 2008Just got back from an enlightening 4 days at the GSMA conference in Barcelona – got to see new companies working around social networking tools and mobile tv – i guess that was the main theme of this show. content content and more content and some more content
Everyone was doing / trying to create a social network and somehow get people hooked onto their platform. I asked if they were making money – and not surprisingly everyone candidly admitted that they were in the red. Best of luck to us all I say!!!
Met up with Ajit Joakar (http://opengardensblog.futuretext.com/) and was fortunate enough to get a dekkho at his presentation. (Its on his blog now)
Also a shoutout to the Indian GSMA / Mobile Federation – please try to take up a pavilion in the next conference – I saw stalls from Sweden, Israel, UK, Canada and France. They had invited smaller companies within their country, who could not afford to pay for a stall independently and hence were given small tables with their nameplates on it. (neatly done). This gives a big impetus to startups who are not revenue positive but would like to showcase their product in front of a global audience.
My guess is that they would have given some money to participate but essentially its heavily subsidised by the Mobile Federation of that country – if someone reading this can please reach out to the Indian Association it would be super. We need a platform on the global stage specially when India is one of the largest mobile markets.
I met only a limited number of Indian companies participating although i know that there are plenty more doing brilliant work but just don’t have the capital to go and present at the MWC.
One more thing before I sign off – DO NOT FLY ALITALIA – its the most thakela “uberscrewed”of all international carriers – pathetic – please tell everyone you meet or talk to.
Cheers
Akshat

This Intelligent SMS Search will enable users to search the directory of users (from open social networks), mobile content, local business directories, local deals, train / flight tickets, hotel deals and movie tickets for major cities in India. Users can eventually transact through the service.”
